Foreigner to Play in Lincoln this Summer

By Chase Porter Jan 27, 2025 | 11:04 AM

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Foreigner will be stopping in the capital city this summer.

The “Juke Box Hero” troupe will be performing at Lincoln’s Pinewood Bowl Theater on August 13, 2025. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 31 at 10 a.m.

With 10 multi-platinum albums, 16 Top 30 hits, and over 80 million records sold globally, Foreigner will no doubt hit Lincoln with familiar anthems, including “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Urgent,” and the worldwide hit “I Want To Know What Love Is.”

Formed in 1976 by guitarist Mick Jones, Foreigner’s debut album produced chart-topping hits like “Feels Like The First Time” and “Cold As Ice.” In 2002, after a hiatus, member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame Mike Jones reformed the band and brought on lead singer Kelly Hansen, whose performances have helped the band connect with new generations of fans.

The current lineup also features legendary bassist Jeff Pilson (of Dokken), keyboardist Michael Bluestein, guitarist Bruce Watson, drummer Chris Frazier, and guitarist Luis Carlos Maldonado.

In recent years, Foreigner’s music has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity, with their songs featured prominently in films like Rock of Ages, Bad Moms, Magic Mike, Pitch Perfect, and The Eternals, as well as TV shows including Stranger Things.

This is far from Foreigner’s first show in Lincoln. The legendary rock group performed at the Lied Center for Performing Arts in 2014, as a apart of the Lied’s 25th anniversary season. They returned the following year on tour with Night Ranger and Def Leppard.
