An employee of a Lincoln liquor store is bashed over the head with a bottle and two teens are arrested for being accessories.
Lincoln Police Officer Erin Spilker says police were sent to Ken’s Kegs in the 1300 block of North 48th Street around 11 Tuesday morning on reports of a fight.
A 29-year-old employee told officers he was assaulted after confronting a shoplifter who was observed taking two bottles of liquor and leaving the store.
“The male struck the employee on the side of the head with a glass Jack Daniels bottle, causing a large laceration,” said Spilker.
Another employee saw what was happening and instructed two women standing nearby to call the police.
“The females did not assist,” said Spilker. “Actually, one of them picked up a bottle that was discarded during the fight and got into a nearby vehicle.”
The shoplifter struck the employee in the head again and drove away from the area with the two women.
The women were eventually tracked down, and 19-year-olds Amy Fowlkes and Michelle Foster were arrested for being accessories to a felony.
Officers are still searching for the shoplifter.
