In lieu of their tradition spring football game this year, the Huskers have opted for a more open format slate of events for fans to enjoy throughout the day. Coach Rhule has chosen this path for the team this spring due to the wild west nature of the transfer portal and NIL
The main event will take place at Memorial Stadium, kicking off at 1 p.m. with flag football between UNL intramurals and Midland. The games will continue with a mixture of scrimmages and competitions between players and fans. John Cook will be the halftime entertainment with his roping roundup skills. Then the games will finish off with a chicken wing eating competition. Will Compton and Jay Foreman will be the captains of the scrimmaging teams.
If your looking for other activities besides football, there will be multiple tours of the new athletic complex, concluded with a walkout into memorial stadium before the games. Food trucks will be stationed outside Memorial Stadium. There will be an equipment sale with item from every team starting at 8 am. The volleyball team will be playing Kansas at the Bob Devaney Center at 7 pm. Women’s soccer will be taking on Wyoming at 4:30 pm.
Tickets for these events are still available. A ticket for any event is needed for the entrance to the equipment sale. You can find more information here.
