Lincoln Police were called to Cornhusker Highway and State Fair Park Drive on Saturday, March 8th around 6:32 p.m. to investigate a disturbance.  Officers contacted a 28-year-old male victim and a 43-year-old female victim.  They told police that a man, later identified as 41 year old Andrew J. Marr had tied a rope to a metal bar and was throwing it at vehicles.  According to the victims, Marr was standing on the side of the road, throwing the bar at vehicles, and then reeling the bar back in so he could throw it at another vehicle.  Marr caused $300 worth of damage to the passenger’s side of a Nissan Rogue and $800 worth of damage to a Chevrolet Traverse.

Marr admitted to officers that he was having a “bad day,” and that he probably damaged at least 10 vehicles, although officers only identified two victims.

Around the same time, LPD officers also took a report from Super Save at 26th and Cornhusker Highway   The store manager explained that Marr had intentionally pushed over an electronic article surveillance tower.  The damage is estimated at $4,000.

As officers were contacting Marr, he also spit at one of the officers.  Officers cited and lodged Marr for Criminal Mischief and Assault on an Officer with Bodily Fluid.
