New details have been released in a small plane crash that killed three people last Friday night near Fremont. The National Transportation Safety Board tells KLIN News the preliminary information indicates the airplane struck a power line before crashing into the Platte River.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says several agencies responded to the scene, including the Valley and Waterloo Fire Departments, the Omaha Police helicopter and the Nebraska State Patrol
The victims of the crash are identified as 43-year-old Daniel Williams of Moundridge, Kansas, 50-year-old Jeff Bittinger and 48-year-old Randy Amrein, both of Fremont. The NTSB continues to investigate the crash and tells KLIN News the preliminary report is expected to be released within the next 30 days.
