Lincoln Police say a 42-year-old woman sitting on a couch was wounded in a drive-by shooting just before 10:00 last night near 40th and Old Cheney. LPD Lt. Jason Goodwin tells KLIN News says officers found the woman suffering from a one gunshot wound.
“The front door of the house had numerous bullet holes and officers recovered bullet casings in the street,” Goodwin says. “During the preliminary investigation a suspect was developed and with the assistance of the Nebraska State Patrol and Cass County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Zachary Skeahan of Alvo was arrested.
He was booked for 2nd degree assault, using a deadly weapon to commit a felony and firing a gun into an occupied home. Police have not said if Skehan and the victim knew each other. She was was transported by LFR to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injuries.
