A seven-week-old boy is being treated for four broken ribs and Lincoln Police believe his father is responsible for those injuries. LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says the child was brought to the Bryan East ER on May 3 where it was determined the broken bones were already healing.
The infant was transferred to Children’s Nebraska in Omaha and LPD’s Special Victims Unit was called to investigate. “Investigators determined the baby’s injuries had occurred 2-4 weeks prior while in the care of his father,” Thomas says.
On Monday morning 26-year-old Kaprees King of Lincoln turned himself in. He was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for 1st degree felony child abuse.
