The National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center (SPC) issued severe weather details as potential severe storms are possible this evening into overnight (15-30% chance). The highest likelihood of storms developing especially in southeast NE and southwest IA.
Hail and heavy rain leading to localized flooding will be the primary hazards, though strong winds and brief tornadoes will be possible.
There are additional severe weather chances Monday afternoon and evening (15-40% chance), primarily in southeast NE and southwest IA. Large hail, damaging winds, tornadoes, and localized flooding will all be possible.
Both of the periods indicate the Lincoln area is in the SPC risk category 2 which is a slight risk. Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible with short-live and/or isolated intense storms.
