Broderick, Nunez honored by Big Ten

Nebraska relief pitcher Luke Broderick earned second-team all-Big Ten honors while infielder Devin Nunez earned Big Ten All-Freshman team honors on Tuesday. The Big Ten announced its full list of baseball postseason awards, including Broderick’s and Nunez’s citations.

Broderick leads the Big Ten with 11 saves, which ranks tied for ninth nationally. He’s 3-2 on the year with a 4.13 ERA in 24 relief outings. He has struck out 37 in 28.1 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Nunez leads the team with a .308 batting average while hitting four home runs with 20 RBI. He’s appeared in 35 games, including 26 starts, for the Cornhuskers in his first season.
