Lincoln Police Searching for Children’s Bike Bandit, Wallet Swiper

By Chase Porter May 21, 2025 | 6:01 AM

Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects in two separate cases. A stolen kid’s bike from a public library, and the other involves a stolen wallet from a local grocery store.

The first case occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2025, at Anderson Library near 58th & Touzalin Avenue.

Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says an individual was captured on camera walking up to a kid’s bike on the outside rack, jumping on, and riding off with it.

The victim’s dad called Police to report it and the library provided the video. The suspect is described as a black male, bald, possibly in his 40’s, wearing a shirt that said “They Not Like Us” and oversized extra long blue shorts.

Video and photos of the incident are available below.

The second case occurred on Thursday, April 15, 2025, at the Lobo City Mex Supermarket on North 27th and “R” Streets.

Keller says the woman noticed her wallet was missing while at the market. The victim said she went to the counter to cash a check, set her wallet down, walked away to another part of the store, realized she forgot her wallet, and returned to report someone had already swiped it.

Video showed a male individual place the wallet into his backpack before leaving on a bike. Investigators say the suspect has unique arm tattoos.

Photos are available below.
