The Nebraska State Patrol’s Carrier Enforcement Division conducted a round of commercial vehicle inspections Wednesday in Lancaster County, uncovering dozens of safety violations.

During the enforcement effort, the NSP’s Metropolitan Aggressive and Prevention Selective (MAPS) Team inspected 26 vehicles and found 73 violations of federal and state regulations. Seven vehicles were placed out of service for issues like faulty brakes or unsafe tires. No drivers were taken off the road.

Troopers issued 13 citations and awarded 12 CVSA safety decals to vehicles that passed inspection with no immediate concerns.

The MAPS Team, established in 1998 and funded in part by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, focuses on vehicles that don’t typically pass through weigh stations or leave city limits.
