Lincoln Police say one person suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle rollover crash around 10:30 Saturday night near 27th and ‘O’ Street. LPD says according to witness reports and evidence at the scene, a red Chevy Silverado driven by 30-year-old Nicholas Jones was eastbound on O St from 27th Street.
Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says Jones was driving in a reckless manner by spinning the vehicle’s tires and swerving back and forth. “Jones lost control of the vehicle, struck the median and caused it to roll to its side.
The Silverado then collided with a westbound Ford Mustang driven by a 39-year-old woman. Thomas says she was taken to a hospital by ambulance and has life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Silverado was also transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Jones was arrested for felony DUI causing serious bodily injury. Thomas says Jones complied with a breath test and it showed his blood alcohol content at .122. A section of ‘O’ St was closed during the investigation.
