Lincoln Police have arrested a 52-year-old man for a series of thefts dating back to the first of the year. LPD says On January 18, March 21, and March 29 officers were sent an apartment complex near 14th and Old Cheney Road to investigate several packages that were stolen from the mailroom.
Police say on May 24, officers were sent to an apartment complex near 48th and Yankee Hill Road in reference a stolen vehicle. Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says that vehicle was found by officers later that morning in the near NW 43rd Street and W. Leighton Avenue.
“Forensic and digital evidence was gathered and analyzed by officers in all these instances,” Thomas says. “Officers were able to use the evidence collected to identify a potential suspect related to each of the thefts.”
Thomas says on May 31 just after 9:15 a.m. David Anthony of Lincoln was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and cited for each of these incidents. Anthony was cited for three counts of burglary
and one count of theft by unlawful taking $5000 or more
