An Illinois man wanted in connection with a Chicago homicide investigation was arrested Wednesday in North Platte by the Nebraska State Patrol.
NSP Spokesman Cody Thomas says troopers were alerted that 34-year-old Essian McGinnis of Tinley Park was believed to be traveling through Nebraska, driving a semi.
Troopers were able to find the specific semi just after it had exited I-80 and parked at a business south of the interstate. Troopers located McGinnis and took him into custody without incident.
He was lodged in Lincoln County Jail on an active warrant for homicide issued in Cook County, Illinois. The Nebraska State Patrol is working with the United States Marshals Service and the Chicago Police Department on this case.
