A serious crash on Interstate 80 near the Elm Creek resulted in a fatality and other injuries Thursday afternoon.
The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) troopers, deputies with the Buffalo County Sheriffs Department, and emergency responders responded to the scene just after 11 a.m. as traffic slowed to a standstill for several hours.
The crash was near a construction zone and appeared to involve a FedEx truck. NSP diverted traffic during clean up.
In announcing that the crash area was clear around 3:45 p.m., NSP said the crash killed one person and caused other injuries.
“Thank you for your patience as crews responded to and investigated this crash,” said NSP on social media.
