As part of its annual One Step Hams for the Holidays campaign, Hy-Vee employees and local first responders will distribute 250 Hormel hams on Tuesday, March 30 beginning at 5 p.m. in Lincoln.  The event benefits families in need and will be held at the Lincoln Salvation Army at 2625 Potter.

“There is no doubt that 2020 was one of the toughest years we have ever faced and so many are still struggling with food insecurity,” said Randy Edeker, chairman, CEO and president of Hy-Vee. “We are fortunate to have great partners who share Hy-Vee’s passion for giving back to the community. Since 2017, Hy-Vee’s Hams for the Holidays events have been an incredible way for us to help thousands of our neighbors in need. We look forward to continuing our efforts this spring to directly impact those in the areas we serve.”

Hams for the Holidays will run for two hours or until all hams have been distributed.  It begins at 5:00 p.m.   In order to follow appropriate social distancing guidelines, hams will be safely loaded into vehicles using a contactless drive-thru method to minimize physical contact. All event volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves for additional safety measures.

This location is one of 15 stops that Hy-Vee is making across eight states to deliver nearly 5,000 total hams in support of hunger-relief efforts in communities served by Hy-Vee stores.
