Lincoln Police has arrested three teenagers for assaulting a 16-year-old girl and a staff member at the Youth Services Center around 6:30 Monday night. Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says an administrator told officers three residents, two 15-year-old girls and a 16-year-old girl had assaulted another 16-year-old female.
“Surveillance video showed the three teenagers approach the victim and proceed to punch her head, pull her hair and then kick her head while on the ground,” Thomas says. “The 16-year-old female also stabbed the victim in the neck multiple times with a pencil.”
When a staff member intervened, Thomas says the teen stabbed the technician with the pencil in the head, chest and back multiple times. “The 23-year-old female employee was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.”
The teen was treated by the on-staff nurse for her injuries. The two 15-year-olds were referred for 3rd degree assault and the 16-year-old was referred for 2nd-degree assault and 2nd-degree attempted assault.
