Nebraska wide receiver Jacory Barney, Jr., was named to the Paul Hornung Award Watchlist, while offensive lineman Teddy Prochazka earned recognition on the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List on Thursday.

The Paul Hornung Award is given to the most versatile threat in college football. Barney contributed last year as a freshman as a receiver, returner and rusher. He tied the school record for receptions by a freshman with 55 while gaining 447 yards. He also rushed 10 times for 130 yards and returned 14 kickoffs for 285 yards.

The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy recognizes a player for their community service. Prochazka was one of 116 student athletes across the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) to be named to the watch list. He is one of the most active Huskers in NU’s Life Skills program. Over the last year, he participated in more than 45 community events, including the Boys and Girls Club, Center for People, F Street Community Center, Food Bank of Lincoln among others. He was also named to the AFCA Good Works Team Watch List earlier this month. He was one of 27 Husker athletes across all sports to receive the Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award this spring, while he has been a member of the Tom Osborne and Brook Berringer Citizenship teams in each of the past three years.
