No one was hurt after a duplex fire around 10:30 Sunday night at 4425 Colfax Circle. LFR’s Nancy Crist says when crews arrived they reported heavy smoke and fire from both garages of the duplex.
All of the residents made it out safely. The fire was contained to the duplex garages with minor fire damage into the living space, however there was significant smoke damage to both sides. The two residents are being assisted by the Red Cross in finding another place to live. The damage amount is estimated at $150,000 to the structure and $100,000 to contents, including two vehicles which were a total loss.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
