Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a park in Waverly around 515 Monday afternoon to investigate an armed robbery. Sheriff Terry Wagner says a 13 year old girl had arranged to sell a pair of Air Jorden shoes an 18 year old man she was acquainted with.
She told deputies that Elijah Hergott and a passenger pulled up to make the transaction. The passenger then pulled out a gun and ordered the girl out of the vehicle and then took off with the shoes.
Deputies later located Hergott who was taken into custody and booked for robbery, terroristic threats, and use of a weapon to commit a felony. He was also cited for minor in possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
The shoes were located. The search for the passenger continues.
Sheriff Wagner says there were a lot of red flags in regards to this transaction and those selling or buying items from private parties must use extra care to protect themselves while making transactions.
