Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in two separate cases, one involving the theft of two electric bikes and the other a group of armed robbers climbing an apartment complex.
The first case occurred on around on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Fairfeild Inn near 27th and Superior Street.
LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller says the victims in this case woke up to their two electric bicycles missing from the back of their vehicle that was parked in the area. The bikes were secured to the back of their vehicle on a bike rack and chained to the bike rack.
Investigators observed the chain had been broken, and found a piece of the suspected bolt cutting tool nearby. Surveillance video captured two individuals walking in the parking lot around 5:30 a.m. that morning, “messing around the back of the victim’s vehicle, then taking the bikes.”
The two bikes were of the brand “Aventon” and each valued at $2,500 for a total loss of $5,000.
Example photos of the bikes security footage of the suspects are available below.
The second case occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at an apartment complex in the area of 24th and “R” Street.
Keller says the victim told officers he was laying in bed when two individuals entered his apartment through the balcony sliding glass door. The intruders were described as two white males, possibly in their upper teens. One of them was wearing a green ski mask with a rifle, the other a blue ski mask and black sunglasses.
The intruders reportedly entered the victim’s bedroom and attempted to take his phone and wallet, but he was able to grab those items back. One of the individuals struck the victim in the arm with the rifle before they both jumped off the balcony and ran off. The victim chased them down the alley but eventually lost track of them.
Five individuals were seen on security footage, some of that footage captured audio. Police are asking the public to listen to the the voices of the suspects to see if they can be identified.
