Capital Humane Society Launches Half-Price Cat Adoption Promotion

By Tom Stanton Jun 1, 2026 | 12:22 PM

The Capital Humane Society is kicking off Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month with a special adoption promotion beginning Tuesday. Thanks to a sponsorship from Mary Jo Livingston, adoption fees for cats and kittens five months and older will be reduced by 50 percent at the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center near 70th and Nebraska Parkway.

The promotion is being offered in memory of Livingston’s cat, Spatz, and will continue until further notice. License and rabies fees may still apply. The Capital Humane Society says it is currently caring for many cats and kittens and hopes the discounted adoption fees will help more felines find permanent homes.
