A Lincoln teen drives over a retaining wall and strikes several other vehicles in an attempt to evade police.
Officer Erin Spilker says police were in the 2500 block of O street around 2 AM Thursday when they noticed a vehicle that had been reported stolen occupied by several people at a nearby EZGO.
The officer made contact with the driver, who was initially cooperative.
However, when the officer called for backup, the vehicle drove forward and off of a four-foot retaining wall on the west side of the building.
The vehicle fled eastbound on N St. and police began a pursuit, but stopped due to safety concerns as the vehicle drove toward downtown.
The vehicle was found near the intersection 14th and M Streets a short while later after hitting several other vehicles.
Officers observed a group of teens fleeing the area and gave chase.
Thanks to a canine track, the 17-year-old driver was located and arrested for theft by receiving stolen property and operating a vehicle to avoid arrest.
She was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence, minor in possession, and misuse of a learners permit.
The other teens were also located and returned home.
