A man reports being assaulted and robbed after giving two friends a ride.
Lincoln Police Officer Erin Spilker says police were sent to the intersection of 30th and E Streets just before 4 AM Thursday on reports of a robbery.
A 33-year-old man told officers he had just dropped off two friends at a nearby residence and was waiting for them to return when one of them reappeared alongside another man.
The victim said, at the same time, a white SUV pulled up behind him and a man with a gun got out and hopped into his vehicle.
The suspect pointed the gun at the victim and demanded everything he had.
The victim reported handing over his wallet and cellphone before exiting the vehicle and escaping the situation.
The victim’s vehicle was also stolen, as officers couldn’t locate it when they canvassed the area.
An investigation is ongoing.
Police suspect this to be a targeted incident.
