The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is extending its campus closure through the end of May. This is an extension of the April 21st announcement where President Ted Carter said they would continue physical closure of campuses through May 4 until more campus-specific guidance is announced.
Chancellor Ronnie Green in a message to stakeholders says they will continue the approach until May 11 and then cautiously begin to ease restrictions until June 1.
Between May 11 and the end of the month, individuals will still need to be designated as needing to have a physical presence on campus in order to gain access to the buildings.
However, the scope broadens for research and creative activities.
Under the extended guidance, university buildings are closed with access limited to designated personnel.
A ban on university-sponsored international and domestic travel has been extended to June 30. Travel within the state continues, but must be approved by a supervisor.
