LPD: Man Arrested After Officers Find Stolen Handgun, Drugs and Fictitious Plates During Traffic Stop

Police arrest a man after discovering his license plates are fake.

Lincoln Police Officer Luke Bonkiewicz says that just after 11 yesterday evening an officer made a stop on a 2006 Dodge Caravan in the 4300 block of north 70th St for having no license plates.

The van was being driven by 28-year old Jeremiah  Bonaparte.

“We learned that Mr. Bonaparte’s license was suspended and the rear plate of the vehicle was fictitious,” said Bonkiewicz. 

Bonaparte gave officers permission to search his vehicle and discovered less than a gram os a substance that pre-tested positive for meth, 6 ecstasy pills, and a stolen handgun.

Bonaparte was arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of controlled substance, driving under suspension, fictitious license plate, and no front license plate.
