Two Arrested On Drug Charges After Nebraska Truck Stop Incident

Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested a man and a woman after an incident at the truck stop at the Wood River interchange of Interstate 80 Wednesday night.

At around 7:40 p.m. troopers responded to a report of a fight at the truck stop.  Upon arrival, troopers found the people believed to be involved in the incident. During the investigation, an NSP K9 detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from inside one subject’s vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, troopers located suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a machete. A search of another vehicle involved in the incident led to the location of additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Troopers arrested 42 year old Steve Williams of Pueblo, Colorado for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person. Troopers also arrested 34 year old Jennifer Jones of Pueblo, Colorado for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were booked into the Hall County Jail.
